Asia Society Texas Center, in collaboration with the University of Houston Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts, presents a new site-specific choreographic work by Jonah Bokaer. On Vanishing unfolds as an uninterrupted 40-minute work and presents an accumulation of changes in the bodies of five performers of diverse backgrounds. In his first-ever choreographic dialogue with sculpture, Bokaer poses the question, "How does the body erase itself, to prefer matter against presence?" Sat 5/19 DiverseWorks.  Choreographed by international award winning artist Stephan Koplowitz, this water themed site-specific work is a collaboration with 16 local professional dancers, Houston composer Aaron Hermes and Space City Gamelan in a 45 minute promenade performance event that physically and visually animates the entire park and its unique fountain.  2pm & 4pm.  Gerald D. Wed 5/23 G Gallery presents new drawings by Brooklyn-based artist Kenneth E. Parris III of the legendary Merce Cunningham Dance Company during their final Legacy Tour. During 2010 and 2011, Kenneth Parris III accompanied the Merce Cunningham Dance Company on the road in order to document their final tour, which showcased eighteen works in fifty cities around the world and featured the last group of dancers personally trained by Cunningham himself.  Gallery is open Wednesday-Sunday 12-5pm.  G Gallery, 301 E. 11th.  For more information contact diane@dincthink.com
